Starting in November 2025, African Swine Fever (ASF) spread rapidly across Southeast Asia, affecting 28 provinces and cities in Vietnam as well as the Hong Kong region. More than 100,000 pigs have been culled cumulatively, posing a severe threat to the swine industry. To support regional disease prevention and control efforts, Dr. Lai Zhi, Chairman of Bafang Tongchuang, was invited to Hong Kong and Vietnam to conduct exchanges on biosecurity and ASF prevention strategies.

As a veterinary medicine expert with 18 years of deep industry experience, Dr. Lai Zhi drew on frontline practical experience to systematically share the core strategy of “preventing external introduction and controlling internal spread.” His presentation covered key measures such as grid-based management, targeted testing, and scientific disinfection, while providing detailed, practical guidance on combined antigen–antibody testing and control at high-risk critical points.
His prevention and control recommendations tailored to emerging variant strains offered actionable, on-the-ground solutions for local swine producers, effectively helping to reduce epidemic-related losses.
